World Dog Show in Stockholm 2008 and the Schnauzer/Pinscher Speciality day before.

The main event of the year in Swedish dogdom took place in Stockholm first week en July when the World Dog Show and a lot of specialitys was held. I had the honour of judging three days and go over so many top quality dogs from many parts of the world and due to this I of course could not show myself.
Maximin was represented at both shows by the bitch Maximin Northern Light, owne by Lejonklippans kennels of Leonbergers.
The result was "Excellent" on the Speciality under well known English judge Frank Kane. Not placed but there were 17 junior bitches in the class. Day after she was graded "Good" under English judge Knut-Sigurd Wilberg.

Maximin Northern Light few days before the show. She is litter sister to Maximin Mr Minivale and Maximin Blue Moon.

Tailor made his debute in a rather new stripped coat and was res in the class.

Border Union Ch Show June 14th in  Puppy Class 6 entries under judge Duncan Niven.
He was 2nd and also qualified for Cruft´s -09, maybe we will be there!

Congratulations Carol and Terry for getting Minivale Inspector Klu-So's 3rd cc at Border Union which made him up.

Tailor will leave England end of June and be back with us at Maximinin Sweden. We look forward to his future showing over here and maybe we will be back in the English show rings with him some day as he has now got a double "citizenship."

The Miniature Schnauzer Club show 2008.

The Swedish Miniature Schnauzer Club held their annual show on May 10th. This is a type of an Open show, so no cc´s has ever been available but it has been ever so prestigious since the start in 1986, where actually Pamela Morrison Bell of Eastwight fame was our first ever judge. This year Vera Hûbental from Sweden did the judging of well over 100 adult Minis while Marita Östlund did the puppies. As usual the wather was with us, splendid sunshine, nice showground, excellent company as always and a friendly atmosphere which is the custom at this popular show.

In the BIS-final there is a tremendous line up as all class winners from all colours given an "price of honour (HP)" by the judge compete for the final 10 best. An impressive sight of 37 dogs at the end of a long day was hard work for the judge.
This year the BIS winner was Ch Fixus Hasta La Vista, the Fixus kennels actually had 6 dogs placed in the final line up and representing all three coulours black, b/s and s/p. Well done and congratulations.

We were pleased with our own results, showing two dogs, both a bit out of coat after the spring season.
Maximin Mr Minivale made his last show appearance in Sweden before joining his real owners Carol and Terry Parnell and the Minivale kennels in England. He was 1st in a strong junior class with an HP while his sire Ch Minivale Mr Eklu was 2nd in a strong class of top winning champions, also with HP.
Meckie was short listed in the final line up but not placed among the 10 best.

We already look forward to next years show and thank´s to all friends for a nice day as usual.

Minivale Mr Eklu competed in the Open Class for the first - and only- time getting 1st and later on the dog cc that qualified him to the Swedish Ch title. He ended his day going BOB. I bet his breeders Carol and Terry Parnell, Minivale kennels in England are as proud as we are. His son, Maximin Mr Minivale got BOB pup again.
